Monkey Gland

IBA

Invented by Harry MacElhone at his Paris bar in the 1920s, the Monkey Gland takes its provocative name from a then-fashionable and controversial medical procedure involving primate gland transplants. Gin and orange juice form an unexpectedly harmonious base, while absinthe contributes a whisper of anise that lends the drink an intriguing herbal shadow beneath its fruity exterior.
