Cosmopolitan

A pink, citrus-forward vodka sour balanced between Cointreau's orange sweetness and the tart snap of cranberry and fresh lime. Its modern shape was standardized by Toby Cecchini and Melissa Huffsmith-Roth at Manhattan's Odeon in 1989, refining an earlier South Beach pour often credited to Cheryl Cook. A 1990s icon — propelled by Madonna sightings and Sex and the City — it remains a crisp, elegant cocktail when poured dry rather than candy-sweet.
