Hemingway Special

A bracing, sugar-free riff on the daiquiri born at El Floridita in Havana, the Hemingway Special pairs white rum with fresh lime and grapefruit juice, sweetened only by a whisper of maraschino liqueur. It traces back to Ernest Hemingway's standing request for his daiquiri "without sugar and double rum" — the Papa Doble — later softened and brightened with grapefruit for a wider audience. The result is tart and complex, finishing crisp and dry.
