Singapore Sling

A pink, tropical gin highball built at Singapore's Raffles Hotel Long Bar, where bartender Ngiam Tong Boon dressed up a gin sling with cherry liqueur, Bénédictine, and a long pour of pineapple juice around 1915. Lime, Cointreau, and a touch of grenadine knit the fruit to the botanical gin while Angostura sharpens the finish. The result is fragrant and deceptively easygoing — fruit juice with a backbone — shaken frothy and served tall over ice.
