Espresso Martini

IBA

Invented in London in the 1980s by bartender Dick Bradsell, reportedly for a model who requested something to wake her up and then knock her out, the Espresso Martini became one of the most globally ubiquitous cocktails of the early 21st century. The bittersweet intensity of fresh espresso melds with Kahlúa's roasted sweetness, while vodka provides the clean alcoholic backbone that keeps the drink from sliding into dessert territory.
