Created at the Aviary Bar in Kuala Lumpur's Hilton Hotel in 1978, the Jungle Bird stands apart from the tiki canon by introducing Campari's bitter edge into an otherwise tropical framework. The result is a complex, slightly brooding drink where dark rum and pineapple sweetness are constantly checked by a bitter, citrusy undercurrent.
