New Orleans' Pat O'Brien's created this luridly red, fruit-forward rum punch as a way to offload excess rum during WWII-era spirit shortages — passion fruit syrup, citrus, and grenadine fuel the storm. Served in its namesake lamp-shaped glass, it is the celebratory drink of the French Quarter.
