Fog Cutter

A potent tiki classic from the Trader Vic's bar of the 1940s, the Fog Cutter stacks light rum, brandy, and gin over lemon, orange, and almond-sweet orgeat, then crowns the lot with a float of cream sherry that drifts down with each sip. The triple-spirit base is deceptively smooth — Trader Vic's own menus warned drinkers to "positively" stop at two. Served in its signature ceramic mug over crushed ice, it remains one of the genre's defining drinks.
