Doctor Funk

Named for Dr. Bernard Funk, the personal physician of Robert Louis Stevenson in Samoa, Donn Beach's version combines two rums, citrus, grenadine, and a rinse of Pernod into a tall, tart tropical drink that marries anise's herbal cooling with the funk of agricole rum.

  • 0.5 ozGrenadine
  • 1 ozLime Juice
  • 0.25 ozAbsinthe
  • 1 ozClub Soda

Preparation

    Combine rum, grenadine, lime juice, and absinthe in a shaker with ice.

    Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds.

    strain

    Strain into a tiki glass over ice and top with a splash of club soda.
