Toasted Almond

The Toasted Almond is a soft, dessert-leaning creamy cocktail that marries the marzipan-sweet, faintly bitter note of amaretto with the dark roast of coffee liqueur, all rounded out by a pour of cream. Shaken and strained over fresh ice, it drinks like a nightcap: gentle, low-proof, and reminiscent of an almond-coffee confection. It emerged from the 1980s wave of rich liqueur-and-cream drinks — a close cousin of the Sombrero and White Russian — and carries no documented single inventor, having spread by convention rather than authorship.
