Red Hook

A stirred, spirit-forward modern classic, the Red Hook reworks the Brooklyn cocktail by swapping dry vermouth and Amer Picon for brooding, bittersweet Punt e Mes and a generous measure of marasca-cherry maraschino. The result is a richer, darker cousin of the Manhattan — bitter chocolate and cherry framing a backbone of rye. It was created around 2003 by Vincenzo Errico at Milk & Honey in New York and named for the south Brooklyn waterfront neighborhood.
