Vampiro

A savory, spice-laced Mexican tequila cooler built around sangrita — the tomato, citrus, and chili "little blood" whose color and straw-from-a-bag street service earned the drink its vampire name. Tomato and orange juice lend body and sweetness, lime and Worcestershire sharpen it, and a whisper of chili and a salted rim give it heat. Credited to fruit-stand vendor Oscar Hernández of San Luis Soyatlán, Jalisco, in the early 1980s, it has since become a Mexican staple and an IBA-recognized cocktail.
