A first-generation Don the Beachcomber tiki rhapsody, the Cobra's Fang stacks overproof Demerara rum and dark Jamaican rum over the genre's signature trio of lime, orange, and passion-fruit syrup, knit together with spiced falernum and a whisper of bitters and grenadine. Donn Beach built it around 1937; his earliest version closed with a few drops of absinthe for anise-edged complexity. Blended with crushed ice and crowned with mint, it's lush, tart, and dangerously easy for its proof.
