Ferrari

The Ferrari is a brutally simple 50/50 split of Fernet-Branca and Campari — a so-called "bartender's handshake" passed quietly between industry folk and usually thrown back as a shot. Campari's bright orange-citrus bitterness tempers Fernet's brooding mint and menthol, the two amari sharpening each other into something oddly balanced. Its origins are undocumented; it simply surfaced across bars as a shared rite. A pinch of salt is the classic softening touch.
